But other than that, you know, there just werent a lot of people in the larger church speaking and there had to have been a lot of church leaders who knew about what was going on and knew that there were problems with Bill Hybels. He, Becky and their kids have been part of the fabric of BT for so long, it is Lets say you have you have six or eight members who are saying, Guys, we need to fire this person. So grateful for those who did and Scot McKnight who came out with a just a powerful, I remember when his blog hit and he said, Every elder has to resign. And within what, wasnt it a week, all of them resigned. I have plenty of authentic friends just not at church. Everything started to make sense. What I need most is what I dont have. People can do the job of preaching and leading a church for, you know, 40 plus weeks in the pulpit at a church of this size. This is what manifests. What is it that causes so many people who know better, to look the other way and allow evil to prosper? So when you have a culture thats willing to, you know, exfoliate spoiliate, destroy documents in order to preserve a narrative, theres really very little that the culture will not accomplish at the cost of innocent people. Well, one thing I did want to cover, and our time is getting to an end, but I know that you have dealt with having a sexual predator within your church. I was blown away. And its designed to be acretive, right that they gain strength over time. Youre its just not its not a matter of if its a matter of when. Yes, I totally agree. At the end of the day the aftermath of destruction is felt on so many levels by so many people and we all react differently in our humanness. This is a person who is pushing a boundary because they want to do something bad. Id like to share a few things as we navigate this loss together. Thats a rhetorical question. And thats one of the things that I just come back to is that the word hypocrisy in the Greek the word that comes from that means actor.
